Minecraft Snapshot Week 42 12w42a/b Download Link

Well Hello,

We have another Snapshot for you.

Minecraft Snapshot 12w42a;

Releasing an early snapshot this week because we need to crunch out the pre-release as soon as possible. This snapshot has the following changes:

  • Anvil block has been tweaked (it’s cheaper to create, minor visual changes, and you can repair tools using wood/ingots/diamonds)
  • Bats no longer trample crops or trigger pressure plates
  • Redstone repeaters can be “locked” (fixed output) by having a powered repeater connected to its left or right side
  • Added an option to hide a server’s IP address
  • Updated language files
  • More bugfixes & tweaks!

Read this on the Mojang Blog

Minecraft Snapshot 12w42b (Preprerelease!);

Here’s the next snapshot, 12w42b! We are pushing these very rapidly now because we need to get ready for the 1.4 pre-release (which needs to be out before the official release on October 24). Since yesterday’s snapshot we’ve done…

  • Falling sand now properly “pops” when falling on non-solid blocks (such as torches)
  • The redstone repeater lock mechanism is now slightly more stable / predictable. It’s still not 100% as we want it, but fixing it completely will require bigger changes that we’ve planned for Minecraft 1.5.
  • Fixed tooltip width for renamed items
  • Added a number of sound events, but the sound effects are not added yet
  • Server ping will now tell if the server and client have mismatching protocol versions
  • Updated translation files

Jeb posted a video showing some of the ‘Red-Stone Lock’ features

jeb_: After 1.4 we’re going to fix a bunch of redstone-related stuff that will break builds, so that’s why we’re only using the “safe” version now

Minecraft Snapshot Week 40 12w40a/b Download

Hello again,

DoneyKebab here.. Bringing you another Minecraft Snapshot update..

Minecraft Snapshot 12w40a;

On Thursday Mojang released 12w40a;

We’re now fully into the “prepare for release” mode, so we’ve almost only worked on bug fixing and performance. We’ve decided to aim for October 24 for the full Pretty Scary Update. Here’s this week’s changelog:

  • Minor terrain additions for the witch
  • Flatworld configuration now allows you to generate trees, strongholds etc
  • A number of new NBT tags for items (intended for custom map makers)
  • The pick block action now works on items
  • Pressing the 1-9 hotkeys while hovering over an item will put that item into the inventory bar
  • The left-click action will no longer open doors, pull levers, push buttons or open trapdoors. Use the right mouse button!
  • Firespread has been slightly nerfed again to prevent infinitely spreading fires
  • More bugfixes & tweaks!

This was found to have a few bugs that needed fixing, no game-breakers though.

Minecraft Snapshot 12w40b;

12w40b was released on Friday fixing some minor issues.

UPDATE: The links above have been updated to version 12w40b. In this extra snapshot:

  • Fixed the glitchy block popping bug
  • Fixed beacon rendering
  • Fixed a crash related to map items in strongholds

You can read this on the Mojang Blog

This all sounds very exciting! Editable Books? I’m looking fwd to checking that out. I also wonder what the ‘censored stuff’ is too?

jeb_: I think this will be this week’s top FAQ: The book recipe has been changed

I’m guessing it is up-to us to work it out.. Do you think it involves in sacks?
